Who is the ‘first introducing entity’?
The first introducing entity is the party that places a given product or packaging on the Polish market for the first time. This can be a manufacturer, an importer, or a party that brings products in from abroad and puts them into circulation on the Polish market. This stems from extended producer responsibility, established by an EU Directive, and comes with specific obligations:
- registering in the BDO register before starting operations;
- keeping detailed records of products placed on the market;
- calculating and paying the product fee;
- ensuring a system for collecting, recovering and recycling the products placed on the market;
- filing an annual report by 15 March for the previous year;
- updating BDO data in case of changes to the business activity.
Which products does this service cover?
We support introducing entities for:
- tires – registration and records regardless of the number of units sold
- batteries and accumulators – a separate obligation to ensure the collection of used cells
- lubricating oils – product fee calculated on the quantity placed on the market
- greases – records and reporting on the same terms as the other products
- packaging for the above products, if you place it on the market together with the product.
