Fire alarm system (SSP) is a collection of elements forming an installation with a specific configuration capable of detecting fire, initiating alarms, automatically notifying the fire department, or taking other actions to reduce the effects of a fire.

In the case of daily and quarterly maintenance, the inspection can be carried out by the facility user. However, it is important to remember about quarterly and annual inspections, which should be performed by qualified specialists with the necessary experience and knowledge, supported by training provided by manufacturers.

The inspections of fire alarm systems are regulated by:

  1. Regulation of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of June 7, 2010, regarding fire protection of buildings, other construction facilities, and areas.
  2. Polish Standard PKN-CEN/TS 54-14:2006 Fire detection and fire alarm systems – Part 14: Guidelines for planning, design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance.
  3. Technical and operational documentation as well as guidelines provided by the manufacturers of the systems.

From the mentioned legal basis, it is understood that technical inspections and maintenance activities should be carried out at intervals determined by the manufacturer, but no less frequently than once a year.

The cost of conducting an SSP installation inspection depends on factors such as:

  1. The size and type of the facility, including the SSP construction.
  2. The type of inspection (quarterly/annual).
  3. The location of the facility that is to undergo the inspection.
  • Travel to the specified location.
  • Work at the facility.
  • Preparation of appropriate documentation confirming the completion of the inspection.
