EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Ergonomic Audit

Are you interested in an ergonomic audit?

Office workplace ergonomics – it sounds like a cheap phrase in occupational health and safety that no one pays attention to because, after all, we all know how to sit at a computer, right? Unfortunately, not entirely… each of us who spends more than 3-4 hours a day in front of a screen has encountered at least one of several problems:

  • aching wrist,
  • tingling in the elbow,
  • burning eyes,
  • back pain,
  • numbness in the legs… and so on…

There are quite a few problems of this type, and although we don’t all experience them at the same time, and sometimes not at all, I must tell you – unfortunately, sooner or later, they will start to appear. Therefore, try to postpone this moment as much as possible… how? Take care of your workplace.

Sitting in focus for eight hours or more – immersed in online resources and connecting with the whole world – we seem not to notice what is happening in our bodies during this time.

When choosing a office chair, we think about it being comfortable and affordable, but that’s not enough. The chair can’t be just “SOME.” It must be ergonomic!

Ergonomic, but what does that mean?

A good, ergonomic office chair must meet many rigorous requirements. Above all, it should have mechanisms that allow adjusting its parameters in almost every range (height and depth adjustment of the seat, height and tilt adjustment of the backrest, height adjustment of armrests, and headrest). Adjustment of the reclining force of the backrest…

An ergonomic chair is not the one that has wheels and allows adjusting the seat height, but the one equipped with many optimizing solutions. Solutions that allow proper support for the lumbar spine, adjustment of armrests, adopting a healthy posture during work, the ability for continuous movement of the backrest (of course, adjustable), and the ability to move the body in any direction. The body doesn’t suffer, the mind tires less.

Thanks to all these technical solutions, the right seat allows for the most comfortable and least burdensome position for the spine and the whole body. A good chair facilitates concentration, improves employee efficiency, and minimizes the negative effects of sitting at a desk for hours. Therefore, it is crucial for the chair to be adjustable in height, have an advanced synchronous mechanism, be equipped with movable armrests, and an adjustable headrest. – These are just the basic set of necessary elements without which it’s hard to imagine a decent workstation.

In our animation, we present these most important adjustment possibilities.

If you want to check your chairs and receive training on the proper adjustment of the chair for the user – feel free to consult with us. We provide professional OHS services in Warsaw and online.
