Online OHS Training

Are you interested in online OHS training?

When we think about OHS, the first association that often comes to mind is training in occupational safety and health conducted shortly after signing a contract but before starting tasks resulting from it. Undoubtedly, periodic OHS training is crucial for raising awareness among employees about potential hazards associated with their positions and for dealing with any inconveniences that may arise, such as fires or accidents.

According to the labor code (Article 94, point 4), the employer is obliged to conduct training in this field, and it is within their responsibility to provide their staff with safe working conditions. In addition to technical aspects, knowledge of OHS principles, which is imparted during periodic and initial training sessions, plays a crucial role.

According to the regulation of the Minister of Economy and Labour of July 27, 2004, regarding training in the field of occupational health and safety:

  • Employers and other persons directing employees,
  • Engineering and technical employees,
  • Occupational safety and health service employees and other persons performing tasks of this service, administrative and office workers,
  • As well as employees in other positions whose work involves exposure to harmful, burdensome, or dangerous factors, or responsibility for occupational safety and health.

Participants in online OHS training organized in the form of directed self-education should receive materials enabling them to assimilate the issues covered by the OHS training program (e.g., scripts, legal regulations, sets of control questions).

Directed self-education can be conducted online – online OHS training has become increasingly popular recently (mainly due to the current situation).

The Labor Code imposes an obligation on the employer to undergo training in the field of occupational health and safety necessary to perform his duties. This training should be periodically repeated.

Basic OHS information for employers includes, among other things:

  • legal regulations in the field of labor law regarding OHS,
  • identification, analysis, and assessment of hazards posed by harmful, burdensome, and dangerous factors, as well as the risk associated with these hazards,
  • rules of conduct in the event of an accident at work and in situations of danger (e.g., fire, emergencies), including rules for providing first aid in the event of an accident,
  • first aid,
  • issues related to fire protection and environmental protection.

Access to knowledge is also available in the form of e-learning!

No matter where you are – Warsaw, Poznań, Wrocław… anytime, anywhere, you can participate in training on the platform. Online initial OHS training is, above all, convenient.

Initial OHS training in general instruction is carried out before new employees, students undergoing student internships at the employer, and students undergoing practical vocational training are allowed to work.

In connection with the state of the epidemic, initial OHS training can also be conducted online. This results from Article 12e of the Act of March 2, 2020, on special solutions related to preventing, counteracting, and combating COVID-19, other infectious diseases, and crises caused by them:

“In the period of the state of epidemic threat or epidemic, it is allowed to conduct initial training in the field of occupational health and safety and service entirely through electronic communication means, with the exception of on-the-job training:

1) of an employee employed in a manual position;

2) of an employee employed in a position exposed to the action of hazardous factors;

3) of an employee transferred to a position referred to in points 1 and 2;

4) of a student undergoing practical vocational training and a student undergoing student internships.”

Online initial OHS training is conducted through a platform for conducting live meetings and events. The only requirement is access to a computer and the Internet by the training participant.

Upon receiving information about initial OHS training, we send a link to the meeting to the specified email address.

During the training, issues in line with the framework program of general instruction are presented (Annex No. 1 to the regulation of the Minister of Economy and Labour of July 27, 2004, on training in the field of occupational health and safety).
