Working at Height Training

For supervisory staff: site managers, foremen, team leaders and OSH specialists. We combine safe work-at-height technique with workstation inspection methodology – hands-on exercises at your facility.

Working at height training

Why choose our training?

  • Practice in real conditions – 4 hours of exercises on ladders, scaffolding and roofs at your facility.
  • Complete equipment included – we provide harnesses, lanyards, shock absorbers, ropes and connectors for the exercises.
  • A programme for supervisors, not just workers – practical checklists, scaffolding assessment (Scafftag system).
  • A unique rescue module – suspension trauma, emergency notification, preparing fire brigade access.
  • Exam and certificates – every participant who passes the exam receives a workstation certificate.
  • Experienced team – led by EHS Consulting specialists who work daily on OSH supervision at construction sites.

PRACTICE

Working at Height Training – Theory and Practice

We combine solid theory with intensive practice carried out in real conditions – on the client’s construction site or premises, on ladders, scaffolding and roofs, using professional fall-protection equipment. Participants train exactly where they actually work.

The training programme includes, among others:

  • Safe movement on ladders, scaffolding and roofs
  • Methodology for inspecting workstations and workers
  • Rescue procedures for suspension trauma after a fall arrest

Every participant who passes the exam receives a certificate of completion of specialist workstation training – a ready document to present during a PIP (National Labour Inspectorate) inspection.

Programme

Training programme – working at height

How does the process work?

01. Contact and needs assessment

We determine the number of participants, the type of facility and the available infrastructure (ladders, scaffolding, roof).

02. Programme adjustment

We select practical modules to match the real hazards present at your facility.

03. Hands-on training

Classroom theory + 4 hours of exercises on your infrastructure, using EHS Consulting’s fall-protection equipment.

04. Certificates and documentation

Named certificates of completion of workstation training plus documentation for PIP inspections.

Every training session is tailored to the specifics of your site and the real hazards present there.

Legal basis

Employer obligations for work at height arise from several legal acts:

  • Regulation of the Minister of Labour and Social Policy of 26 September 1997 – defines work at height (from 1.0 m) as particularly hazardous work,
  • Article 2373 of the Labour Code – prohibits admitting a worker to work without the required qualifications and OSH training,
  • Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of 6 February 2003 – requires an IBWR (Instruction for Safe Performance of Works) and a BIOZ (Health and Safety Protection) plan for construction work,
  • Article 226 of the Labour Code – requires familiarising the worker with the risk assessment and hazard-protection rules.

Training must be carried out before a worker is cleared for work, whenever the position or technology changes, after an accident, and periodically. Many general contractors and investors require documented workstation training from subcontractors before a contract begins.

Working at height - protective measures

Frequently asked questions

Everyone who works at least 1.0 m above floor or ground level, manages or supervises such workers, inspects workstations at height (including the OSH service), and anyone who clears fall-protection equipment, ladders and scaffolding for use. Responsibility for allowing an unprepared worker to perform such work rests with the employer and the person managing the workers – not with the worker themselves.

The full programme lasts approx. 7–8 hours (theory part approx. 2 h 15 min, practical part approx. 4 h) and is delivered in a group of up to 12–15 participants.

Before clearance for work, whenever the position or technology changes, after an accident or near-miss, periodically to maintain competence, and before starting a new contract – many general contractors and investors require documented workstation training from subcontractors.

Yes – that’s our standard model. The practical part (approx. 4 h) takes place on your facility’s own infrastructure: ladders, scaffolding, roofs and structures. Additional training rigs can be supplied for an individually agreed fee.

We provide all personal protective equipment for the exercises: safety harnesses, lanyards, shock absorbers, ropes and connectors. Participants train on the client’s own infrastructure – ladders, scaffolding, roofs and structures.

Every participant who passes the exam (a mental-preparedness workshop based on an emergency scenario, plus a knowledge test based on photographic documentation) receives a certificate of completion of specialist workstation training.
